Sunday, May 26 -- Youth Music Extravaganza with Violin Soloist Richard Lin!
Time: 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Location: William Saroyan Theatre, 730 M St Fresno, CA 93721
Hear a brand-new work by young Mexican composer Juan-Pablo Contreras. And hear Indianapolis Violin Competition gold-medal-winner Richard Lin performing the Khachaturian Violin Concerto! Add to that a few other amazing works, including George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, and you have a rollicking afternoon of outstanding and upbeat musical joy. Our annual Youth Music Extravaganza is popping at the seams this year! Not only are we presenting the winner of this year’s Indianapolis Violin Competition (just announced: it’s 27-year-old Richard Lin!) playing the Khachaturian Concerto, but we are offering a rip-roaring program of Latin-inflected works guaranteed to get toes tapping. On the program: Khachaturian: Violin Concerto, Richard Lin, soloist Gershwin, Cuban Overture Ginastera: Dances from Estancia Contreras: Mariachitlán
